77 Shadow Street and The Moonlit Mind by Dean Koontz

Well I am going to be honest first. 77 Shadow Street was not the best Dean Koontz book I have read but it was not awful either. It was pretty demonic and I enjoyed that and it was a little more violent than I remember Koontz books being. I have not read him in a while though so that may be part of my opinion. More to the point of this review though...
77 Shadow Street is a story about an old mansion on Shadow Hill converted into penthouse apartments. The tenants who live in the apartments all start experiencing really strange occurrences that eventually lead to horrific violence and death... sounds fun right? With a pretty unexpected twist at the end the book keeps you guessing as to what is causing the disruption in the old mansion blending the past with the present and the future.
I give it a 3 1/2 out of 5. Glad I paid half price for the nook e book version.

The Moonlit Mind (Novella) A tale of Suspense by Dean Koontz is a extension off of the 77 Shadow Street story.  This is the story of a boy named Crispin that lives with his little brother and sister in a large house across the street from The Pendelton( the mansion from 77). Like the story in 77 as well, there are a lot of weird things happening with the house and cause Crispin to escape and run away. The evil is not as evident until later in the story but it does foreshadow what craziness eventually happens in 77. By the way I am abbreviating 77 Shadow Street as "77". I enjoyed the story line of this novella almost more than the 77 plot and I feel like it could definitely be developed into a full novel.
I give it as well a 3 1/2 out of 5. Worth reading but helped it was cheap and on the nook so it was easy to read on the go while I am also reading A Dance With Dragons by George R.R. Martin and its 1000 pageness.
